Can I give my dog anything for pain?
Its nearly 4am and I am awake because my dog has been crying. She's a 2yr ancient rottweiler. Tonight she started shaking her head and whimpering so I'm thinking ear infection. She's had them before, but not for nearly a year. I don't see any yucky stuff in her ear though. Also, a friend brought her puppy over today and they were playing - the puppy was nipping at my dog's face and ears but my dog didn't mind (very gentle dog). This pain that my dog has seemed to come on quick - she was fine before bed and now seems to be really miserable, scratching at her ear. I'm going to take her to a vet in the morning but in the meantime is there anything I can give her to ease her pain? ANd do you reckon its an ear infection or something to do with the puppy being here? I am dreading this because she REALLY despises her ears being messed with.
