Glucosamine For Dogs That Have Arthritis

Posted on January 3, 2010

If your dog is suffering from arthritis or other types of joint pain, you should reckon about treating your dog with liquid glucosamine for dogs. I have a Jack Russell who was having a bit of distress playing with our other dog, like he had before. Being a Jack Russell he was always on the go, and it was hard to see him obviously in pain and not moving freely. As dogs get older they suffer from arthritis and joint pain just like we do. We were keen to get Bruce free from his pain, so we went to the Vet to see what he could do to help us. There are a few treatment available from the Vets, as about 30% of dogs will suffer from arthritis in their life.

There were a couple of things we tried to start with. Bruce started on a NSAID first, and when he didn't appear to be getting any better while he was on that, we tried Rimadyl. While he didn't suffer any of the side effects that these drugs can have, he just didn't seem to benefit from them at all. And as there can be side effects from Rimadyl, such as death and other side effects with other NSAIDs.

Then one day I tried liquid glucosamine for dogs and after about 2 weeks I noticed that Bruce was getting about a lot better than before. This was fantastic news for us and Bruce as dogs don't know they're being given a supplement to help them get better. As he was running around and jumping more and more we knew he was getting relief from his pain.

For some time I've been taking a liquid glucosamine product myself with fantastic results, but I wasn't sure if my dog would benefit as much as me. I learnt that these products work fantastic for a number of animals, but they were really excellent for dogs. Using liquid glucosamine for dogs is the best choice as your dog can take it with their food.

Have you ever tried putting a pill in your dogs mouth? This is a hard task. Also they may just chew it in their teeth and not swallow it. Sometimes the problem is that the dog doesn't swallow the pill. Nearly all types of liquid glucosamine for dogs are made with a nice flavor that dogs like. So they may reckon of it as a treat of some kind.

Also we increased the dosage for the first 2 weeks, so that the healing process started more quickly. It's really excellent to do this and your dog will get fantastic benefit from it. Research shows that glucosamine taken in the best form can help ease a dogs joint pain in two weeks. This turned out to be the case with Bruce too. Sometimes if you dog has really severe problems it may take longer than the 2 weeks, so don't despair if the results don't come as quickly as you would like.

If you want to see your dog pain free, like my dog is now, perhaps you need to take a look at glucosamine for dogs. Maybe it could help your dog in the sane way it helped mine without the side effects of harmful drugs.

Gary helped his dog ease his arthritis pain. Maybe liquid glucosamine for dogs could help ease your dogs arthritis the same way it did for Bruce. He has more information about what worked for him at glucosamine for dogs.
